I have been away too long!!! But I'm back :)
It has been almost a year since my last post. I just had my third baby in July and I am ready to get back in the scene.
In 2010, I mainly focused in participating as many craft fairs as I could. It took a toll on me. I am now focusing in getting my accessories in stores. I have so much fun meeting the people I am selling my crafts to that I mainly focused on personally selling my items at craft shows/fairs.
But I realize that if I want to turn my hobby into a business I must give up a little control. There is definitely less creating - my favorite part, and more focus on marketing, taking pictures, and creating line sheets - just to name a few. I definitely need to learn to manage my time. I have 14 weeks to learn to do this. That's when my maternity leave is up.

Marikit Designs in October 2010
It has definitely been a busy September. Now its going to get even busier.
For October I will be at the following locations:
October 9 - Sunnyside Gardens, Queens - Oktoberfest and Craft Fair. It starts from 12-5pm. There will be a ton of activities for children and drinking for adults. Sunnyside Gardens Park is located at 48-21 39th Avenue Sunnyside, NY 11104. Explore playgrounds, jam to live music from the Strung Out String Quartet, nosh on German food, visit a craft fair with local handmade work and purchase a pumpkin at our annual fall event, which is open to the public. Rain date: October 10.
October 16 - Crafts at Chelsea, NYC - 2nd Annual Fall Festival & Crafts Fair Benefiting PS 11. Its from 10 - 5pm. This event is sponsored by the NewNew. On 21st Street between 8th & 9th Street. Join us as over 100 local artists and crafts people gather to celebrate all things handmade at the second annual Crafts in Chelsea. Its a fun filled family event with arts & crafts, bouncey castles, baked goods, games and prizes for children of every age.
Hope to see you at these events! :)

Summer 2010
It has been a busy summer. Since April (2010) I have been at a fair/market every month. It has definitely been a learning process. The summer has been particularly hot and that has affected sales....so I would like to think. It would be so easy to give up, but I won't let myself be discouraged. I would like to keep up with my blog on a monthly basis on the very least. But as you can see I am not a very good writer so its painful for me to write as it is painful to read! LOL.
Anyway, I will be posting where I will be selling my hairclips and will be posting more pics of my booth and new items. I hope everyone is making the best of this heat!!!!
